ConverSLations with Silly Avro

ConverSLations

In an effort for all of us to get to know each other better, I’ve decided to conduct some friendly (and not at all prying) questionnaires. I hope it’ll help connect us to others, and bring our little community closer. Today, we have Silly Avro.

Silly Avro

What’s your SL name and what do people call you? Avatar Name: Silly Avro
Display Name: Prisilla

People usually call me Prisilla, Pris, or Silly ๐Ÿ™‚ Any of those are fine.

How old is your avatar? Is it your first? Silly was created on 11/26/07, she was one I created as an after thought because I thought I missed some special freebies when I made my original avi on 9/25/07. Technically Silly is my 3rd avi, I made a 2nd for my husband who turned out to not be at all interested in SL.

Do you have any SL family or RL family in SL? I have someone in SL I consider my SL mom due to a role play connection we had. That role play is over, but she remains a mother figure to me. I also have an SL sister, who I met in role play as well, but our relationship blossomed outside of role play and I consider her my best friend. We have met in RL and we are in constant contact with one another in and out of SL.

How old are you and where do you live? I am 39 and live in Southern California.

What’s your home life like? As stable and normal as can be. I love my RL.

Why did you join SL? I am an educator in RL and it was educators who introduced me to SL. My original avi was connected to the RL me, so that is why I have used one of my alts in SL since. I have nothing to hide, but don’t wish unscrupulous folks in SL to have my RL info.

What do you do in SL? I have role played for years in SL, and when my role play died I began to explore what else there was to do. SL is a breeding ground for creativity and I knew I was bound to find something interesting. Landing a job as a writer for AVENUE Magazine, opened the door to a whole new SL adventure for me, fashion and modeling.

When and how did you start? I learned about SL in July 2007. I thought it was odd and never bothered to check it out personally. In September of 2007 I was looking over my conference notes and visiting the links educators had shared and was reminded of SL. I very nearly just skipped it, but i tried it and have been in SL consistently since.

When not working in SL, what are you doing? Working as an educator in RL, enjoying my family in RL and seeing to my home.

Who is the most fun/interesting person you’ve worked with? That is a hard one! I have had so many wonderful people in my SL. I seriously cannot name just one, and I won’t even make a list for fear of leaving someone off it!

Who do you want to work with? Again there are so many talented individuals in SL, I would be happy to work with any of them.

What do you wish you could do in SL? Be an AVENUE Model ๐Ÿ™‚

Silly faveWhat is your favourite post/picture? I am no photographer and I know good photos are crucial to blogging. it was this fact that kept me from blogging for a time. I am no Skip Staheli but I am doing the best I can with what I have and I have been pleased with the way most of my photos come out for being raw ultra snapshots. The above I feel is one of my better photos.

What is your one SL vice or guilty pleasure? Role play. I still role play on one of my alts and love it. AVENUE capitalized on my love of RP and has sent me on assignments to RP sims, where it is hard for me not to grab an alt and try it out!

What is the oldest thing (you can find) in your inventory? THE TORCH! *laughs*

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be? Silly, Friendly, Honest

Does SL influence your RL style? Vise versa? It totally does. My RL and SL certainly affect each other and have enhanced my experiences in and out of SL.

What’s your favourite pasttime? Reading and writing

Anything else you want to share? I enjoy Second Life deeply and enjoy supporting and partaking in the creativity of its residents.
