Second Life officially turns 11 on June 23rd, but the celebration begins tomorrow as the sims will open at Noon (12pm SLT). This year there are a total of 11 sims, as well as several favorite features from previous birthdays like the Pod Tours, Live performances, community discussions and of course the exhibitions.

Another great way to celebrate is to join the SL11B Big Hunt! There are four trails that are spread throughout the sims with gifts and prizes from participating exhibits. Click here for the details!
Here is a partial text from SL11B’s official site that shares the vision behind this year’s selected theme:
When Winston Churchill said this in 1943, he could not have imagined a virtual world like Second Life, but now, more than seventy years later, his words have come true in this new world that we have created.
If there’s one thing that makes SL unique, it’s our community of users. Users from all corners of the globe come together under a single umbrella to build a community that comes from our minds and our imaginations. Everything we see, touch and use in Second Life is a product of our imaginations, our minds, and our community.
The images I took today were from exhibits in the Wonderous sim and I’ve only scratched the surface of the dozens and dozens of fantastic exhibits this year. Those Pod Tours will come in handy!
